Tayseer Khaled, a member of the Executive Committee of the Palestine Liberation Organization and the Political Bureau of the Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine, commented in his social media accounts, on the sentencing of the Israeli soldier Elor Azaria for killing the wounded Palestinian Abdel Fattah al-Sharif, by saying:
Today is issued the conviction judgment of the Israeli soldier Elor Azaria for the murder of the wounded Palestinian Abdel Fattah al-Sharif. The conviction decision with "involuntary manslaughter “ doesn’t reflect a tendency to reduce the sentence against the killer soldier only, but it reveals the racist face of the political, executive, legislative and judicial institutions of the occupation state.
He added, as the verdict of "involuntary manslaughter " issued, the Israeli leaders raced in demanding the release of the killer, from the far-right (minister Miri Regev) to the Zionist camp / Labour Party (Chile Yahimovic). Netanyahu also did not hesitate for long and Naftali Bennett announced in his turn that he is supporting granting amnesty to the killer soldier. While the Israeli president is standing in the sympathetic line with the killer soldier waiting to seek pardon and release him.
Tayseer Khaled concluded: we should recall, in this context, the report which was released by Human Rights Watch, which accuses a wide range of senior Israeli political and security officials, in the army and police of the occupation of incitement to murder on mere suspicion, which led to the deaths of more than 250 Palestinians since October 2015. Azaria is not the only killer in the state of the occupation; there are many committers of crimes and murders in Israel, who deserve to be judged before the international justice.
