Land Day Declaration by the Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine

On March 30, 1976, our people in Galilee, Al-Muthalath (triangle) and the Negev rose up in defense of our land and against Zionist actions.

On this day, the blood of the dead and injured soaked the land of our predecessors. Today, as we remember that eventful day in the history of the Palestinian struggle, we salute all of those who were victims on what is now referred to as “Land Day.”

The Zionist enemy continues with its plans: Robbing our land on the West Bank to build racist settlements, Judaizing Jerusalem to change its demographic and geographic character, and working to prevent the establishment of an independent Palestinian state.

Our people continue to struggle in defense of our land and the right to create a sovereign state on the territories occupied in 1967. We are fighting to defend our national identity within the territories of 1948 and against the racist policies created by the Zionist state.

Our people — those who are displaced in other countries, residing in the diaspora and living in refugee camps within the motherland — still retain their right to return to their homes from which they were expelled in 1948.

The heroic Palestinian people continue their march in defense of their national rights and raise their collective voice to end internal division and restore national unity.

On Land Day, we salute and express our admiration for all those who are showing solidarity with our cause and organizing events in support of the Palestinian people.

On this hallowed Land Day, we call for mass efforts in the refugee camps to reaffirm our right to return, to continue our struggle until the occupier is defeated, and to establish our national independent Palestinian state.
