The U.S. administration is called upon to stop its policy of an economic blockade against UNESCO and to correct its policy
UNESCO’s decision to accept the Palestinian state as a full member is a step forward on the right path to accepting Palestine as a full member in the UN and all its institutions.
We express our high regard for those who voted to accept the state of Palestine.
We direct ourselves to those who abstained to develop their position based on our people’s right to an independent Palestinian state, an entitlement that has been obstructed since 1948.
We call upon the U.S. administration and all who voted with the occupying state of Israel to adjust their position to conform to international law and to cease the policy of an economic blockade against UNESCO.
We call on the PLO’s president and the members of its executive committee to be prepared to take action on November 13, 2011 — after the review by the admissions committee of the Security Council- in the General Assembly to present the proposal to recognize Palestine as a state with full UN membership, recognizing its 1967 borders and Jerusalem as its capital.
